Nearly 4,500 OCC shoeboxes collected locally

Volunteers are hard at work at the Operation Christmas Child Webster County Relay Center at First Baptist Church of Mathiston during National Collection Week, which was Nov. 17-23. Shoeboxes were packed into larger boxes that were put on trunks in Columbus last week and shipped to Atlanta. About 30 volunteers (mostly from throughout Webster County) went to the Southeast Regional Center this week to help distribute shoeboxes to over 100 countries around the world.
