Crossway Church

announces service

time changes

Crossway Church will begin having midweek services on Wednesday nights instead of Thursday nights beginning at 6 p.m. today.

Nursery (0-4), children and youth (5-18) activities begin at 6 p.m. in the family life center. Classes for all ages begin at 7 p.m. Adult worship service and Bible study begin at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Walthall Baptist

yard sale

Walthall Baptist Church is having a yard sale from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in the activity building. All proceeds go to Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission.

Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church, 960 VFW Road, Eupora, will be in revival Sunday-Aug. 9.

Sunday night will start at 6, and Monday-Wednesday nights will begin at 7. Bro. Chris Barrow, pastor of Cumberland Baptist, will be the revival speaker, and Alton Blanton will be in charge of music. Bro. Martin Carden, pastor, invites all to attend any or all of these services.

Sacred Harp

Singing School

A Sacred Harp singing school is to be held at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 11 to precede the 140th session of the Calhoun County Sacred Harp Convention there the next day at 9:30 a.m.

The singing school will be taught to introduce people to shape note, or “fa-sol-la,” singing from the tune book called “The Sacred Harp.” Rudiments regarding reading music will be drilled, so all are welcome regardless of previous musical knowledge.

Light refreshments will be served at the break. This will be a great event for children and adults of all backgrounds and denominations.
