Services for Ella Ruth Oswalt Gazaway, 73, of Sturgis will be at 2 p.m. May 17, 2017, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Revs. James Wells and Donny Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery near Ackerman.

She was born April 26, 1944, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Gazaway was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She died May 14, 2017, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Gazaway of Sturgis; four sons, Jerry Gazaway and Terry Gazaway of Ackerman, Sammy Gazaway of Sturgis and Tracy Gazaway of Risco, Arkansas; a brother, Paul Oswalt of Weir; three sisters, Mary Higgins and Wilma Oswalt of Weir, and Bonnie Sue Sledge of French Camp; and nine grandchildren

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Airy Cemetery Fund.


Jo Ann Jenkins

Services for Jo Ann Jenkins, 69, of Ackerman were May 12, 2017, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Revs. Danny Irvin and Jerry Lawson officiating. Burial was in Salem Independent Methodist Church Cemetery near Ackerman.

She was born Oct. 18, 1947, in Starkville. Mrs. Jenkins was a retired factory worker at Belwood and member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include he husband, Raymond Jenkins of Ackerman; two daughters, Patricia Coggins of West Point and Peggy Reed of Ackerman; a brother, Emmett Southern of Stonewall; a sister, Judy F. Abels of Barton, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.


Kenneth Love

Services for Alton Kenneth “A.K.” Love, 84, of Pasadena, Texas, were May 15, 2017, at Pasadena Funeral Home Chapel.

A native of Embry in Webster County, he was born April 6, 1933, to the late Alton and Carria Hood Love, and moved to Missouri in 1943. Mr. Love was an Air Force veteran, retired quality assurance representative from NASA, and member of the Southern Baptist Church, American Legion and many fraternal organizations. He died May 5, 2017, in Eupora.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Love and Alan Love; and two grandsons.
