From Press Reports
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the Mississippi State University Extension Service are hosting a pond management workshop in Webster County.
The workshop will be this Thursday at the Webster County Career and Technology Center at 605 Hall Road in Eupora. A meal will be provided at 6 p.m. by the Webster County Extension office, followed by an hourlong presentation that will include topics on pond design, fish stocking, harvest, vegetation control, liming and fertilization. A question-and-answer period will follow.
Those interested in attending the workshop are asked to register by calling the Webster County Extension Office at 258-3971 or emailing Lisa Stewart at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This workshop will allow biologists and private pond owners the opportunity to discuss management options to improve fish populations and habitat,” according to MDWFP fisheries biologist Keith Meals. “This is a great way for us to provide how-to information that can help pond owners achieve their goals.”
