A special thank you to Walthall VFD

By LaNell and Bill Kellum

We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the Walthall Volunteer Fire Department for answering our 911 call for help on the evening of March 1 around 9 p.m.

Our tool and equipment shed near Bellefontaine was engulfed in flames and it appeared as if it was going to quickly spread to our newly remodeled home and two adjoining buildings that were very close by. We called for help and prayed that someone would get there in time to prevent it from spreading.

We will forever be indebted to the firemen who selflessly were willing to sacrifice their time, talents and lives to put out the fire before it spread. The very quick response, professional training and skills without a doubt saved our home and other existing buildings.

We cannot adequately express our feelings, and would simply like to express our heartfelt thanks to each volunteer that served so bravely and faithfully that night.

Neighbors, we are proud of these firemen and their valiant efforts. We are so fortunate to have them.

Again, thank you and may God bless each and every one of you.
