As was the case with a number of schools across the state last week, all of East Webster’s softball games were wiped out by rain.
The Lady Wolverines were slated to go to South Pontotoc last Tuesday, host Ethel on Thursday and start the first day of the East Webster Tournament on Saturday. They did, indeed, get started on Thursday against Ethel, as that contest was tied 0-0 in the second inning when it was called due to rain.
East Webster was set to try again on Monday to get in some of its contests in its own tournament, but head coach Lee Berryhill was expecting more rain then.
The Lady Wolverines are also slated to go to Vardaman on Thursday of this week.
Next week, East Webster has three games on tap: Tuesday (March 21) at Bruce, Thursday (March 23) at home against Winona; and Friday (March 24) at home against Houston.
The Lady Wolverines entered this week with a record of 1-3 on the young season.
