Bettie Jean Butts

Services for Bettie Jean Butts, 73, of Duck Hill were Feb. 18, 2017, at Ed Roberts Chapel of Remembrance at Roberts and Sons Mortuary in Winona with the Rev. Claude Horton officiating. Burial was in Old Grocer’s Cemetery.

She died Feb. 8, 2017, at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Survivors include four sons, Dwayne Butts of Phenix City, Alabama, Dennis Butts of  Duck Hill, Jeffrey Butts of Kilmichael and Darron Butts of Seattle; three daughters, Frances Butts of Seattle, Gloria Butts of Federal Way, Washington, and Sharron Butts of Kilmichael; two brothers, Porter Butts of Chicago and Charles Butts of Eupora; five sisters, Ruby Hill of Vardaman, Minnie Davis Corrine Butts and Jimmie Ruth Roby of Kimichael, and Hattie Hopkins of Winona; 28 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.   


Eva Lee Gilmore

Services for Eva Lee Gilmore, 70, of Vaiden were Feb. 18, 2017, at Ed Roberts Chapel of Remembrance at Roberts and Sons Mortuary in Winona with the Rev. Amos Hightower Sr. officiating. Burial was in Vaiden Community Cemetery.

She died Feb. 7, 2017, at her residence in Carroll County.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Gilmore of Chicago and Earl Gilmore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven daughters, Demetruis Thomas, Samantha Gilmore, Sunnie Gilmore-Miller, Kansas Gilmore and Earlene Gilmore of Chicago, Denise Gilmore of Vaiden, and Totie Gilmore of Winona; two brothers, Frankie Lee White and Robert Earl White Sr. of Jacksonville, Illinois; five sisters, Berta Mae White and Theresa White of Jacksonville, Geneva Freeman and Lettie Williams of Chicago, and Bobbie Thomas of Gary, Indiana; 38 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.


Shelton Donald Stacy

Services for Shelton Donald Stacy, 75, of Ackerman were Feb. 16, 2017, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Ackerman. Mr. Stacy was retired fro Georgia-Pacific and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He died Feb.  13, 2017, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Gaitha Stacy of Ackerman; a son, Kevin Stacy of Madison; a brother, Leon Stacy of Andalusia, Alabama; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
