Mr. George W. Cummings, 78, died 7/21/16 at North Ms. Medical Center in Eupora. He was born 1/31/38 to Lee Wesley Cummings and Mary Louise Jenkins Cummings. Funeral Services were held 11:00AM Saturday 7/23/16 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Reeds Chapel Cemetery in Webster County. Rev. Willy Weddle and Rev. Hugh Bland officiated. Tracy Hood Palmer and Joyce James provided the music. Pallbearers were; Donny Mitchell, Alfred Pittman, Robbie Cummings, Randy Tabb, Benny Neal and Russ Turner. Honorary Pallbearers were; Tommy Atkins, Donald Duncan, Stan Blaylock and Goob Lamb.

George is survived by his wife; Sandra Cummings, Eupora, Ms., two sons; Barry (Ronda) Cummings, Eupora, Ms. and Pat (Monica) Cummings, Eupora, Ms., four grandchildren; Cassie Cummings (Kramer) Gary, Patrick Scott Cummings, Wesleigh Cummings, Georgia Claire Cummings, and a great granddaughter; Ava Henley Gary.

George was a member of Walthall Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran. He worked 33 years with Wonder Bread in Eupora first as a Route Man and then as Manager before retiring. After retiring from Wonder Bread he was able to devote his time to the family owned business “Sandra’s Kitchen”. He loved greeting the many patrons and just visiting with the everyday customers. After Sandra’s Kitchen burned in 1999, the business relocated to Walthall Quick Stop where George continued working and enjoying being involved with the public. He was an avid sportsman, loved hunting, fishing, golf and travel with his wife Sandra until his health declined. He especially loved large family suppers when all his family and grandchildren would be there.
