A full day of activities is scheduled for Dec. 5 during the annual Eupora Christmas Market, including a vendor market, 5K run and parade.
The theme this year is “Southern Christmas” and funds raised from the community event will go to support Eupora Arts Inc. and arts enrichment for the community.
The second Eupora Arts 5K, also known as Reindeer Race 2015, will serve as a healthy, entertaining and family-friendly kickoff to the market at 8 a.m. The race will be a-fun filled event with the course winding its way through the streets of Eupora starting at the historic Depot downtown.
“Jingle Bells” will ring all the way to the finish line during the Kids/Family Fun Run. Registration is $20 per adult for the 5K Run/Walk Race and $5 per child (12 and under) with a maximum of $15 per family for children for the 5K Run/Walk Race and Kids/Family Fun Run.
Preregister online at racesonline.com or the day of the race from 6:30-8 a.m. Registrants will receive a long-sleeve Eupora Christmas Market T-shirt.
The Christmas Market itself will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Eupora’s historic Main Street District (Dunn Street).
Vendor forms are available at City Hall, Reflection Salon and Belinda Stewart Architects. Monday is the final entry deadline for vendor applications; late entries will be accepted as long as space allows. The booth rental fee is $35.
Kim Kelley will be providing Christmas portrait sittings in the Depot from 10 a.m.-noon.
Lynette McDougald will be giving her entertaining floral demonstration at the BLY Fine Arts Center at 11 a.m. The arrangements will be auctioned at the end of the demonstration.
Fashion Arts Show
The 2015 Fashion Arts Show will be at 1 p.m. at the BLY. Presenters will be Jesse Newton; Amazing Grace; Tux, Taps. Tiaras Etc.; The Old Stone Station and BB’s Monograms. The show will feature ladies fashions from tween to adult clothing and accessories.
The Grass Skirts will be performing on stage during the afternoon of the Christmas Market. The bluegrass gospel band is based in Fulton

“Southern Christmas” is also the theme of the Eupora Christmas Parade, which kicks off at 5 p.m.
The annual event is sponsored by the Eupora Rotary Club and members of the Rotary-sponsored Interact Club at Eupora High School will serve as grand marshals.
There is no entry fee but all entrants, whether a float, vehicle or marching unit, need to complete an entry form. First-, second- and third-place floats will receive cash awards.
Entry forms are available at the Progress-Times office (58 N. Dunn) and City Hall or from any Rotarian. Please return completed forms by 5 p.m. Dec. 3; call 258-7532 for more information. Parade entries should be at the lineup location (Fox/Clark Avenue) by 4 p.m. parade day.
The parade will include winners from the previous night’s Miss Merry Christmas Pageant, which will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in Bennett Auditorium on the Wood College campus in Mathiston.
