Maben United Methodist Church has finalized plans for its fall revival, which will be Oct. 11-13.
This will be a return home for the visiting preacher, the Rev. Wesley Pepper, pastor of Coopers’ Chapel in Quitman. He is now in his ninth year in the ministry.
Pepper grew up in this area and attended the Maben church with his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Doug Pepper; his father having been a Methodist pastor who is now back in the ministry.
The young Pepper held a revival years ago at the Maben church that drew a large crowd. Wesley Pepper is no stranger to preaching or music, as his father, uncle and grandfather are all preachers, and the family is musically talented.
The revival will begin Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. with a supper in the fellowship hall, followed by services at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Monday and Tuesday night services will begin at 7.
The Rev. Scarlett Shepperd, pastor, and members invite all who wish to come to be present and enjoy some good preaching and good singing.
