CMM donates school supplies to EES

From Press Reports

On July 28, members of the Webster County Chapter of Citizens Militia of Mississippi gathered school supplies and presented them to Eupora Elementary School.

EES Secretary Karen Collins praised CMM for its support.

“We greatly appreciate the school supplies,” she said. “It helps us to know that we can provide the kids with what they need because the community cared enough to give. It helps families that have two or three siblings in a family. Without this help our teachers and staff end up having to buy the supplies needed. For a teacher this is a lot because they have 20-plus kids in their classroom.”

Giving back to the community is one of many CMM goals. CMM serves those in need and recognizes the need and purpose for children having the school supplies they need. Without the supplies the teachers are left bearing the burden and the students suffer the most from not having what they need to be successful.

“Having three children myself, I know what it’s like to have school supplies and clothes added onto the mound of bills that have to be paid, which is one of the reasons I chose to donate to the school supply drive,” said one member.

CMM will be holding a public meeting at the American Legion lodge off Hwy. 9 North at 7 p.m. Sept. 12. The public meetings gives people an opportunity to find out more about CMM and its mission.
