From Staff Reports
Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday countywide in the runoff to fill the seat of the late Rep. Alan Nunnelee.
The candidates in the June 2 nonpartisan race are Republican Trent Kelly, a district attorney from Saltillo, and Walter Zinn Jr. of Pontotoc, a Democratic attorney and political consultant.
Noon Saturday is the deadline for in-house absentee voting at the Webster County circuit clerk’s office in Eupora. Voters may also cast ballots there from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday.
Nunnelee, a Republican, died in February from brain cancer. None of the 13 candidates competing in the May 12 special election to replace him as the state’s 1st District representative won more than 50 percent of the vote, forcing the runoff.
