The Webster County Board of Supervisors met with a sales representative regarding the county’s tractors and related equipment during a brief meeting Jan. 20 at the Doss Building.
The board met with Robby Roberts of Wade Inc. out of Grenada to discuss his new role as being the point of contact for the county regarding its tractors and related equipment purchases. Roberts attended to meet with the board members personally, as well as introduce himself to them all.
Roberts told the board that he and his company are there to serve the county’s needs to the best of their abilities. He assured the supervisors that if any needs arise regarding their equipment, the company would be there to service them in a timely and proper fashion.
Roberts also informed the supervisors that he would be bringing a number of packages that show pricing and leasing information regarding their equipment to the board’s next scheduled meeting. “We have just taken on the Alamo group, which we have been trying to get for years,” Roberts said. “We just signed with them (Jan. 15), so from now on we are going to be able to get Alamo equipment now.”
Board members informed Roberts that they would be in contact with him with any needs, and thanked him for taking the time to meet with them.
Next, board attorney Buchannan Meek read the latest grand jury report of its investigations, which detailed the inspection of county facilities. Afterwards, the board unanimously approved a motion to spread a copy of the report on the minutes.
Supervisors also approved a motion to spread upon the minutes 5th District Circuit Court orders appointing and setting the salaries for the Circuit Court administrator and the Drug Court coordinator.
Kathy H. Alford has been appointed Circuit Court administrator for the district, with Webster County to pay 12 percent of her $56,750 salary. Hugh David Bain has been appointed the 5th District Drug Court coordinator/field officer III at a salary of $55,750. Their appointments began Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2018, according to the orders.
The board accepted the surrendered tag list as submitted by the tax assessor without amendment and recessed until Jan. 30 at the Doss Building in Eupora.
