The members of the Eupora Community Outreach Ministry hosted their annual Christmas Cantata on Dec. 14, with many of the community’s youth participating.
This year’s event was held at Liberty United Baptist Church in Eupora and the theme was “Christmas Joy.”
Every year in many churches and other venues, Christmas cantatas are held to celebrate the story of Christmas using a performance of music and speeches. Cantatas consist of many different themes, all of which revolve around the celebration of Christmas and the days following.
The event was filled with parents of the children performing as well as other community members. Serving as emcee for the event was ECOM member Ella Dumas.
After a brief welcome by Dumas, the children went into their performance. Telling the story of Christmas in words and song, the children did renditions of traditional holiday classics, all while telling the story of the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
