Greg’s back at Maben Farmers’ Market

Maben Farmers’ Market
The Maben Farmers’ Market featured produce from Greg’s Produce Barn in

Longview on Saturday.
Jim and Kay Henry from Longview brought watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes, peaches, plums, green beans, Vidalia onions, peppers and figs.  Some of their regular customers were happy to see them back at the market and pretty much bought all they had brought to sell.  I bought the figs among other things and they were fabulous!
Rubie and Mary Harris set up under a tent to sell their wares.  Rubie offered four kinds of fried pies: peach, apple, cherry and sweet potato.  She was also selling several kinds of fruit preserves and jellies.
Mary had the most amazing assortment of items from glassware to pottery to a filter water pitcher, all gently used.  I bought a lovely glass centerpiece bowl from her for only $2.  What a bargain. The Maben Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday morning from 7:30 until 10.  If you are interested in being a vendor the cost is only $5 for a 10-by-10-foot space.
