Rep. Joey Hood (R-Ackerman) and Sen. Gary Jackson (R-French Camp) have each received an “A” for their efforts in pro-business legislation from Mississippi’s Business and Political Education Committee.
Both lawmakers represent Webster County. They were among 60 representatives named BIPEC business and jobs champions on Aug. 5 for their support of pro-business initiatives and their votes in support of maintaining a legislative climate that fosters corporate investment in the state.
The honor was given at the Capitol, where BIPEC officials Van White, president; Dr. Randy Easterling of River Region Health Systems, vice chairman; and Bill Crump of Fred Carl Investments, secretary; gathered.
BIPEC is a nonprofit association that annually grades lawmakers on business and economic progress.
