The next session of Weight Watchers at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora begins June 26.
Classes are held each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Education Classroom. All members of the community are welcome to join. Department of Education employees are eligible for a discounted membership and receive a free Deluxe Startup Kit ($50 value) with the new voucher. Young at Heart Dance
A Young at Heart Dance sponsored by the Starkville Parks & Recreation Department will be June 27 from 7-10 p.m. at the Starkville Sportsplex Activities Building, 405 Lynn Lane.
Music is provided by Bill Davis’ Music 4 U. Admission is $5, and includes coffee, soft drinks and light snacks.
The 34th Annual Gore Family Reunion will be June 28 at the Springhill School House located on Highway 404.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m., including a review of family memorabilia and genealogy [please bring any pictures and information you would like to display and share]. Beginning at 11 a.m. will be a time of giving information on families’ Gore history and a song by Mary Davidson. Lunch will be at noon [cost $10].
After lunch will be a presentation of Keith Gore Wiseman’s photographs from his series called “Gore’s Oxfordpatawpha.” He is the son of Bettie Gore Wiseman and grandson of Will Abe “Red” Gore of Walthall.
Ezekiel Fletcher Gore, ancestor of many of the Gores, was the Methodist pastor of Greensboro from 1865-69. Everyone is invited to attend this reunion.
‘Movies Under the Stars’
“Movies Under the Stars” will be June 28 at the BLY Fine Arts Center and Art Park in downtown Eupora.
A children’s movie will be shown at noon inside the BLY and again at 8:30 p.m. in the Art Park; bring your lawn chairs for the night show. A “Happy” dance contest will also be held.

Trial Gardens event at MSU
Mississippi State Trial Gardens will present a workshop on “Hugelkultur: Nature’s Raised Beds” on June 28 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Trial Gardens on the MSU North Farm campus.
Learn how to make raised beds filled with the best organic materials and nutrients nature has to provide with nothing more than old stumps and rotting wood!

The Mathiston Public Library has story hour and activities for children of all ages every Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in the Education Conference Room.
