Responding in addition to the WCSD were the Tomnolen and Eupora fire departments, and NMMC-Eupora Emergency Medical Services. Firefighters had to use the “jaws of life” to extricate one person.
Another accident occurred later Monday morning when a log truck overturned on Tomahawk Road in Bellefontaine.
Chief Deputy Jeff Mann said the truck was going around a curve when the load shifted, causing the truck to tilt over into a deep gully. The driver was not injured.
Sheriff Tim Mitchell thanked local fire departments for their assistance at accident scenes and other incidents. “They are a big help and an asset,” he said.
