The Webster County Methodist Cluster met April 15 at Maben United Methodist Church for its regular third Tuesday night meeting.
Members were present from Lebanon, Liberty, Pleasant Hill, Eupora First Methodist, Maben and Bellefontaine.
The Rev. Raleigh Richter, pastor of Lebanon, opened the meeting with a short devotion after cluster President John Jones introduced him.
Speaker Rose Coffee Graham presented a program on stress management.
In the business part of the meeting, scholarships were awarded to the students who had been chosen. The scholarships are one of the projects of the cluster, designed by Dan Burchfield of Eupora and others.
Each year a $200 scholarship is presented by the cluster to a male and female student after applications are turned in.
The scholarships are not based only on academic records, but based on the person’s history of church work.
The scholarships this year went to Lauren Carney of Eupora First United Methodist and Chance Cooper of Liberty UMC.
The cluster group will be losing two pastor members this year, as Lebanon-Bellefontaine Charge and Eupora FUMC will have new pastors in June.
Richter, who will begin a new pastorate in another nearby charge, will still be living in the area and will remain on as secretary of the cluster.
After a few other business matters and a supper, the meeting closed until the third Tuesday night at Liberty UMC.
