Opal Geraldine Carpenter White, age 78, a native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and former resident of Eupora, and Osyka, Mississippi, passed away on April 14, 2014.
Opal leaves behind her children and their spouses, Julia and William F. “Bud” Tweedy, Charles and Brenda White, and Eva Jacquot; grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Sarah Owens, Jeffrey H. Owens, Misty and Jeff Bryant, Liz and Jay Shores, Jed White, Jennifer Broussard, John David White, Bethanie and Mike Labram, Stefan “Cody” Jacquot, and Emily Jacquot; great-grandchildren, Anna Kate, Olivia, Clara, and Maribeth Owens, Jaycee Bryant, Skylar Zeller, Emilee Shores, Christopher Broussard, and Trishton Holmes; siblings, Vernon, Fern, Jarvis, Robert, and Hugh Carpenter and Vesper Hinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. White; son, William H. White; parents Mildred B. and Charles (Bud) Carpenter; and siblings Charles, Willard, Lavonne, and Isthmal Carpenter, Guessner Starkey, and Athelene Haltom.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Shady Grove Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Dr. George Haile will officiate the services.
