The Eupora High School fast-pitch softball team scored nine of the game’s last 10 runs including three in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a huge 12-11 win over Bruce in region softball action on Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles fellbehind 10-2, but used an amazing 19-hit attack to rally from behind and take the important win. Emily Littlejohn banged out four hits and drove in four runs to lead the EHS offensive explosion, while Hannah McDowell had four hits and Marlee Ray three.
Next up for Eupora is a trip to Bruce on Thursday, before returning home to host Grenada on Tuesday then traveling to East Webster on April 3. On April 5 the Lady Eagles will travel to Neshoba Central in Philadelphia to play Meridian and Starkville.
Last Friday the Lady Eagles used 16 hits to power their way to a 14-5 win over Choctaw County. Jalisa Bell had three hits and four RBIs for the winners in that game, while McDowell cracked out three hits and drove in two runs and Ray picked up a pair of hits and a pair of walks. Delta Newman also walked twice in that game, while Sidney Bailey was the winning pitcher.
