The Eupora High School fast-pitch softball team will be taking a two-game winning streak into this weekend’s South Pontotoc Tournament that will see EHS playing four games over a two-day span.
The Lady Eagles are scheduled to face Houston at 11 a.m. on Friday and South Pontotoc at 2 p.m., before taking on Mooreville at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 1:15 contest against Oxford. Eupora is set to return home on Tuesday when the Lady Eagles will host Winona, before visiting Choctaw County on Thursday.
Last week the Lady Eagles, now 3-2 on the season, dropped a 10-0 decision to Choctaw County on Thursday before taking a pair of games in the East Webster Tournament on Saturday. EHS defeated Houston 5-4, then followed that up with a 7-1 win over Vardaman.

Delta Newman struck out five batters in the game against Choctaw County, while Marlee Ray picked up a hit and a walk at the plate.
Eupora scored in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the 5-4 win over Houston. The Lady Eagles scored four times in the second to take a 4-1 lead, only to have the Lady Hilltoppers tie the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning.

Courtney Hatcher led Eupora with three hits, while Kaitlin Burton had two and Ray had one hit and two walks. Newman picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Eagles.
Eupora used a nine-hit attack to take the 7-1 win over Vardaman. EHS scored three runs in each of the first and fourth innings, while Newman struck out six and allowed just two hits to earn the win.
Jalisa Bell and Hatcher had two hits each for the winners, while Ray had two RBIs and Bell and Burton picked up one each.
