On Feb. 17 and 18 the Eupora High School Beta Club (grades 9-12) traveled to Tupelo for the 68th Annual Mississippi State Beta Convention.

While there, the club members participated in a variety of competitions, and one member, Trey Pittman, ran for the state office of president. As a requirement of Trey’s campaign, the club members performed a campaign skit and Trey was responsible for making a campaign board to display all of his leadership qualities.

Several members of the EHS Beta Club participated in academic challenges. Justin Lewis, a junior at EHS, brought home second in the state in computer literacy. The campaign skit, written and directed by Mary Kathryn Brister, Beta president, placed second in the state. Trey also received an award for placing third in the state on the campaign board.

Over those two days the club members created great memories, and represented Eupora High School positively. They are already making plans for next year’s Mississippi State Beta Convention.

If you ask any club member about their experience, they would probably tell you that they just got back, and they are already excited about next year’s convention.
