Bobby and Joyce Davis of Jim’s Auto Parts in Eupora celebrated 50 years of being in business on Friday and Saturday.

In addition to sale items and door prizes, last week’s celebration included free hamburger and hotdog lunch plates served to visitors.

Jim’s Auto is named for original owner Jim Curry and was first located on West Fox Avenue in what is now Eupora Electronics.

Bobby Davis and J.C. Wright bought the business from Curry and began operating it on Feb. 8, 1964. They moved to the current location at 2844 E. Roane Ave. in 1969, and were in partners for 45 years until Wright’s death.

Davis said he has had many good customers and friendships over the years, and has seen many changes in the automotive business, such as the use of computers. He also said he has had many good employees working with him. They include Rodney Cooper, who has worked there about 40 years.

Jim’s Auto now has five locations: Eupora, Maben, West Point, Okolona and Houston
