Lady Eagles take league win over Bruce

The Eupora High School girls basketball team closed out regular season league play with a 49-39 in over Bruce last week.

This week the EHS boys and girls will play host to East Webster on Friday before closing out the regular season with a road trip to West Oktibbeha on Feb. 14.

Jaliyaah Patterson scored 19 points to lead the Lady Eagles in the win over Bruce. Haley Robinson and Jabrieya Morton scored 11 each for the winners, while Chandrea Watson scored eight.

The Lady Eagles dropped a 61-35 decision to French Camp on Monday night despite a 21-point effort by Patterson, who connected on eight of nine free throw attempts. Robinson scored 12 for the Lady Eagles in the game.

The Eupora boys snapped a two-game losing streak with a solid 64-53 win over FCA on Monday. Chance Cooper scored 23 points and had eight rebounds to lead the winners, while Corson Gunn had 18 points and 11 boars and Deon Watkins had 18 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Trey Pittman also had nine rebounds for the winners.

The Eagles lost to Bruce 55-40 on Friday and Heidelberg 54-52 on Saturday.
