The Holmes Community College Bulldogs broke a three-game losing streak here Monday afternoon with an impressive 80-66 win over Baton Rouge Community College, who had defeated the Bulldogs earlier in the season.

The game was tied 36-36 at halftime. The Bulldogs then outscored the Bears in the second half 44-30 to pull out the win. Holmes led by 19 in the second half, 74-55. Travis Johnson led the Bulldogs with 21 points while Dayshawn Watkins had 19 and Tamarico Wilson had 12. Johnson and Banks each had seven rebounds.
Despite scoring 58 points in the second half, the Holmes Community College men’s basketball ten drooped a tough 96-92 decision to homestanding Itawamba Community last Thursday night. Rodrigues Palmer scored 19 points for the Bulldogs, while Justin McLearn and Travis Johnson hit for 17 each. Tamarico Wilson added 11 for HC, while Jarvis Williams had 10 in just 16 minutes of play.
The Bulldogs lost to Coahoma Community College Tigers, 67-63 on Monday night.
Holmes jumped out to an eight-point lead in the first half but then were outscored 38-29 in the second half by the Tigers. Dayshawn Watkins led the Bulldogs with 25 points including three three-pointers. Williams added 10 points. The leading rebounder was Patrick Banks with eight.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Baton Rouge Community College, 69-53. Baton Rouge avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Bulldogs in Goodman earlier this season.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 4-11 overall. Holmes hosts Northeast Thursday night in Goodman at 6 p.m.
Baton Rouge lead 42-33 at halftime and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 27-20 in the second half. Carmesha Nalls led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points while Brandi Carter had 10. LaShonda Wilson led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 rebounds while Jamieca Sheriff and Laricka Morgan had seven each.
The Coahoma Community College Lady Tigers jumped out early on the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs 10 days ago, but the Lady Bulldogs stormed back from a double digit deficit to pull out the 81-59 win.
After falling behind in the first half, Holmes battled back to take a 39-31 lead at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs then poured it on in the second half outscoring the Lady Tigers 42-28.
Nalls led the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points with only one three-pointer while Carter added 13 points and Taylor Johnson had 12. Wilson and Johnson each had eight rebounds in the game.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Itawamba Community College 70-54 on Thursday night. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in the North Division. Holmes was set to visit Baton Rogue Community College on Monday afternoon.
Itawamba led 28-26 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 41-28 in the second half. Nalls led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points while Tayanna Purnell had 12 and Carter and Laricka Morgan each had 11.
