Eupora saw a $456 decrease in sales tax collections during November.
The city reported $35,075 in sales tax for November, down from $35,531 for the same month in 2012. Since the state fiscal year began July 1, Eupora has seen about a half-percent decrease in sales tax or $435 compared to the same period a year earlier.
Mathiston’s collections of $16,200 in November were up 7.7 percent, or $1,155, from the $15,045 collected the same month last year. Fiscal year-to-date collections are $92,246, down only $8 from 2012.
The Mississippi Department of Revenue collects 81.5 percent of the 7 percent sales tax from municipalities and distributes the remaining 18.5 percent back to the municipalities over a three-month cycle.
These figures reflect other municipal sales taxes collected on November sales with 2012 figures in parentheses:

• Mantee: $2,724 ($2,388)
