United Blood Services announces will have blood drives from 3-7 p.m. Jan. 9 at FATCO on U.S. 82 East (bloodmobile); 2:30-6 p.m. Jan. 13 at Eupora Elementary School (gym) and 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 14 at East Webter High School (bloodmobile).
A community musical variety show will be Jan. 11 at Wood College’s Bennett Hall in Mathiston. The event is sponsored by the Keepin’ It Country Music Committee, a non-profit organization.
All local talent is welcome; open mic until the slots are filled. Bring your CD, soundtrack or instrument of choice. The finale for the evening will be “A Celebration with the King.” Josh Buford will perform his amazing tribute in honor of Elvis’ birthday.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. for registration food and drinks. Crowd permitting, the variety show will start at 5 p.m. General admission is $10 at the door; performers and children under 12 will be admitted free. Concessions will be available all evening.
The regular monthly Friends of the Library meeting at the Webster County Public Library in Eupora will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13.
Dr. James Crockett (brother of Maxie Bailey of Eupora) will be the guest speaker. His new book, “Power Greed Hubris: Judicial Bribery in Mississippi,” will be presented and available for a book signing. A light lunch will be available for a nominal fee. Everyone is invited to attend.
A Brunswick stew fundraiser will be Jan. 18 at the Stewart Fire Department beginning at noon.
All proceeds go to the Brotherhood Scholarship Fund sponsored by Poplar Creek Nations, Stewart Baptist and Tri-County Baptist churches.
Stew will be available for $5 a bowl (served with crackers or cornbread, drink and dessert), $20 a gallon, $10 a half-gallon, $5 a quart or $3 a pint.
The Mathiston Public Library has story hour and activities for children of all ages every Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.
A bluegrass gospel singing will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 12 at Fentress Baptist Church near Ackerman featuring Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers. A love offering will be received.

Maben Church of God will have revival Jan. 13-15 with the Rev. Matt Hill, pastor of Whosoever Church of God in Pope. Services begin at 7 p.m. daily.
