Pride of Eupora presents concert

For the WPT

The 11th Annual Christmas Concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was Dec. 9 in Latham Auditorium.

Both the junior high and high school concert bands performed a variety of Christmas music selections.

The high school band also accompanied the Eupora Community Chorus, directed by Jason Carson, in “A Christmas Serenade.”

Eupora High School Brass Quintet, accented by the percussion section, also performed an upbeat version of “White Christmas.”

For the grand finale, the high school band played its Christmas Parade tune “Bells of Joy” – a combination of “Joy to the World” and “Jingle Bells.”

Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, approximately $750 was raised in order to benefit the research hospital.

Band Director Chad Hawkins, the band members and band parents extended “a very big thank you” to the community for its support of this annual event that benefits a great cause.
