Students collect pajamas for needy children

From School Reports

Haley Fields’ sixth-grade reading classes at Eupora High School have been collecting pajamas for needy children for Christmas.

They are participating in a program sponsored by Scholastics Reading Club that is called, “The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive.”

For every pair of pajamas that are donated, Scholastics Reading Club will match each pair with a book.

This program works with different orphanages and needy children around the United States, and supplies them with a warm pair of pajamas and a book for Christmas.

They have more than matched classroom pajama donations across the country with nearly 600,000 books and pajamas given away to date.

“My class has learned through this process that it is better to give than to receive and that we should always help those that are less fortunate,” Fields said. “Our students hope that each child that receives a pair of pajamas and a book will feel our love and warm Christmas wishes!” “Merry Christmas.”
