The Maben Public Library, all decorated for Christmas, had its regular Friday morning story hour Dec. 6 with Ms. Mary reading “Merry Christmas, Little Mouse” to the children.
The story was about a little mouse who was getting out of school for Christmas. He took two gifts home for his mother: six cookies and a recipe for cookies.
On the way home he shared five of his cookies with hungry animals; he saved one for his mom. Later they used the recipe to make more cookies and invited all their friends over for cookies and tea.
Later Ms. Mary had the children color a Christmas tree that had shapes drawn on it. The children then cut out the shapes and match them to the ones on the tree. As they colored they listened to Christmas music.
Soon it was time to check out books and head back home.
