School Board accepts bids, recognizes student

The Webster County School Board accepted two bids at its Dec. 2 meeting.

Upon Superintendent of Education Jack Treloar’s recommendation, the board

accepted a bid from School and Office Products of Arkansas on seating for the new gymnasium at East Webster High School. Its bid of $91.58 per chair was the lowest of three received, according to the minutes.

Board members also accepted a 16th Section hunting and fishing lease bid of $2,520 on approximately 504 acres from Toby Davis. His was the only bid received.

Upon a recommendation from Principal Bill Brand of East Webster High School, the board approved Tony Hancock as a volunteer baseball coach at EWHS.

The board accepted the resignation of Betty Washington, teacher at Eupora Elementary School, effective Dec. 31.

Nancy Davis (District 2) was absent.
