Services for Alvin L. “Goober” Hoover, 86, of Starkville were Dec. 11, 2013, at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial was in Coxburg Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Hoover died Dec. 9, 2013, at OCH Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hoover; three sons, Alvin L. Hoover Jr. of Maben, and John Alan Hoover and Jody Dwayne Hoover of Paducah, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Ida Elizabeth Middleton, 91, of Eupora will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 13, 2013, in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Eupora.
She died Dec. 4, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Lucy Walker of Eupora.
Survivors include three daughters, Nona McCaleb, Lucy Walker and Anne Vance; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Myra Sue Lott Putnam of Montgomery, Ala., were Dec. 11, 2013, at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora. Burial was in Sarepta Cemetery in Stewart.
Mrs. Putnam grew up in Stewart but was a longtime resident of Mobile and Montgomery, Ala. She died Dec. 7, 2013, in Birmingham after a long illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Putnam Young of Huntsville, Ala.; three sons, Kevin Putnam of Pensacola, Fla., Keith Putnam of Tampa, Fla., and Kelly Putnam of Union Springs, Ala.; two sisters, Maewood Jones of Plant City, Fla., and Merle Jones of Weir; three brothers, Gary Lott, Benny Lott and Malcolm Lott, all of Stewart; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Conecuh Springs Christian School, 220 Hicks Industrial Park Road, Union Springs, AL 36009.

Graveside services for Christopher Gregory Ward, 40, were Dec. 7, 2013, at Clarkson Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Terry Partin officiating.
He was a battalion chemical NCO with the Mississippi Army National Guard and served two combat deployments to Iraq. Mr. Ward was also a volunteer fireman for Lowndes County District 3 for 17 years. He died Dec. 3, 2013, at his residence in Steens after a long battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Mitzi Cooper Ward of Columbus; three daughters, Julie Ward of New Hope, and Bailey Palmer and Malley Palmer of Starkville; two sons, Jeremy Ward of New Hope and Waylon Palmer of Starkville; his parents, Joe Leslie Ward and Gloria Ward of Macclenny, Fla.; two brothers, James Hodgson of Macclenny, Fla., and Christopher Hodgson of Lake Butler, Fla.; and his grandparents, Joel L. Ward and Marie Ward of Memphis, Tenn.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
