Many people were up early Nov. 29 driving to neighboring towns to find bargains at many Black Friday sales.

Swank on Main, formerly The Hair Pen beauty shop, on Main Street across from Maben City Hall, had its share of customers, for its sales.

The Hair Pen, owned by Carolyn McMullen and daughter Stephanie Contreras, has been a busy place and is continuing to grow.

Contreras has added to the business, and the name is now Swank on Main, still a beauty shop, with three rooms full of lots of interesting items, suitable for gifts for any occasion

Contreras said they were up until around 2 a.m. that Thursday placing items for sale on Friday. When opening for business at 9 a.m., she said people were lined up from the business to the street.

Swank on Main is open for business Monday and Wednesday from 3-5 p.m., and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and during the holidays until 7.

Business was good Friday and the people at Swank on Main appreciated the people coming by.
