EWJH cheerleaders earn third in state

The East Webster Junior High cheerleaders placed third in the 2013 Mississippi High School Activities Association-sponsored state cheerleading championship at the statewide competition in Ocean Springs on Nov. 16.

East Webster was the only 2A squad competing in the Division I tumbling category and bettered six much-larger schools, including North Pike, Pearl and Warren Central, to bring home the third-place trophy.

With only four points separating the first three places, EWJH finished third with Ripley and Biloxi capturing the first two spots.

The girls are coached by Halee McMinn.
