No trick — only treats this October.
The GFWC/MFWC Eupora 20th Century Club members and “Friends of the Hospital” met six times in the home of Frances Hyde during October to make hand puppets and stuffed animals. These puppets will be presented to the NMMC-Eupora Hospital emergency room nurses in November and will be given by ER nurses to children treated in the ER in December.
Realizing the anxiety children experience in being injured or sick and going to the ER, these caring individuals in the community wanted to let children know their community cares about them.
Members of the Eupora 20th Century Club thank community individuals who came to one or more of the work sessions to help make puppets: Judy Taylor, Susan Edwards, Linda Allen, Claire Bland, Taylor South, Jessica Surma, Mary Dell Hubbard, Lavern Walters, Ann and Beth Carwyle.
A special thank you also to Linda Thomas, Bobbie Blaylock, Jonnie Hood, Helen Smith, Gerry Hood, Edna Richards, Wendy Cook, Romie Davis, Maxine Nabors, Laura and Jerry Springer. These individuals helped club members cut out, sew and turn puppets before the meetings. Once stuffing was added they took puppets home to add ribbons and complete the puppets. Many of these individuals also contributed material and ribbon that was used in making the puppets.
