From Press Reports
Aug. 31 was the 20th semiannual Springhill Reunion.
Around 80 people gathered at 10 a.m. at the Springhill School House, with Thomas James calling the group to order and awarding two gifts: the first was to Ruby Carpenter Jones, who was from the earliest graduating class.
The second gift was to Sue Hemphill McRaney for traveling the longest way. School Principal Bro. Stanley Dorroh and Delores Dorroh, and teacher William Shaw were in attendance.
J.B. Rowe was presented a plaque for his faithful service as president three years and vice president for 37 years.
Secretary Jamie Sprayberry gave the financial report. Ann Summerford gave the obituary report.
Officers elected were: President Thomas James, Vice President Ed Baker and Secretary Jamie Sprayberry,
After a beautiful song from Tracy Palmer and a prayer, everyone enjoyed a bountiful potluck lunch. After lunch a fellowship time of visiting, watching slides and looking at memory villa was enjoyed by all.
The next reunion will be in September 2015
