Graveside services for Laverne B. Huffman, 74, of Eupora were Nov. 3, 2013, at Edgeworth Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Wills officiating.
She was born Feb. 12, 1939, to the late James F. and Lavora A. Barnett. Mrs. Huffman attended Alva School, then graduated from Wood Junior College and Jones Business College. She was retired from Screw Conveyor in Winona, where she worked 38 years, and was a member of Edgeworth Baptist Church. She died Oct. 31, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include a brother, Billy Barnett of Eupora; and a host of cousins on the Avent side of her family.
Pallbearers were Allen Cooper, Cody Cooper, Redale Oswalt, John Pearson, Phillip Shoemaker and Joe Salley,

Memorial services for Joshua Paul Laney , 31, of Harlem Ga., will be Nov. 11, 2013, in Richland.
He was born Aug. 3, 1982, in Grenada and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Afghanistan. He died Oct. 17, 2013, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Lynn Jackson Laney; three children, Joshua Artie Paul Jackson-Chambers, Tristen Seth Jackson-Chambers and Aubrey Bama Ann Laney; a sister, Desiree Erin Laney of Mississippi; his mother, Charlotte Ann Stilwell of Wiggins; and his grandparents, Ruth and Russell Meece of Eupora.

Estelle Burdine Lollar

Services for Estelle Burdine Lollar, 95, were Nov. 5, 2013, at Salem Independent Methodist Church near Ackerman with the Revs. Jim Reed and Jerry Lawson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Tutwiler to the late Henry and Georgie Mae McCarty Wells. Mrs. Lollar was a homemaker and a member of Salem Independent Methodist Church. She died Nov. 2, 2013, at her residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Burdine of Ackerman and French Henry Burdine of Hattiesburg; five daughters, Jean Abbott and Mary Hood of Ackerman, Georgie Mae Childress of Flora, Sarah Hodges of Canton and Nina Threet of Weir; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Gerald Cecil McKenzie

Graveside services for Gerald Cecil McKenzie, 85, were Sept. 25, 2013, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg with the Rev. Don Williams officiating.
Born in Oktibbeha County, he was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Beatrice White McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a veteran, serving in the Navy, and was retired from Westinghouse/Cooper Industries. He was a member of the Masons and Porters Chapel United Methodist Church in Vicksburg. He died Sept. 22, 2013, at Shady Lawn Convalescent Home in Vicksburg.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald W. McKenzie of Vicksburg and Ricky McKenzie of Michigan City; two grandsons; two brothers, Carl McKenzie and Charles McKenzie of Vicksburg; and two sisters Shirley Ward of Meridian and Lurlene Cooper of Butler, Ala.
