Eupora Main Street block party a success

From Church Reports

World Harvest Outreach Ministries hosted a block party Oct. 19 on Main Street, Eupora.

Special guests for the evening were Eddie James’ former Excalibur leader, Michael Lake with Michael Lake Dance Ministries, Gadsden Ala. Originally, Excalibur had been booked for the event and under last-minute schedule changes James’ Ministry sent Lake and family to fill the slot. Michael traveled with James’ Ministry for many years and now has his own ministry under the umbrella of Eddie James.

World Harvest Worship Team kicked the festivities off at 6 p.m. with worship and singing. Door prizes from many merchants in Webster County were given away throughout the night while kids enjoyed inflatable jumpers, cotton candy and popcorn. Several food vendors with concessions were available with delicious food. An estimated 500 people throughout the evening turned out for the event.

The block party was organized and designed to be an outreach for the community to enjoy Christian-based family fun to celebrate one year in the ministry for World Harvest Outreach Ministries.

World Harvest also hosted open house and an anniversary celebration on Oct. 20, where Michael Lake and dance team and former state Rep. Charlie Smith were special guests. Guest speaker for the service was Pastor Michael Cannon, Church House of Refuge FWC, West Point. An estimated 100 people attended that service with a reception that followed.

World Harvest would like to say a very special thank you to Mayor Dan Burchfield, city of Eupora aldermen, and police, Eupora merchants and sponsors for the event.
