Fall Festival

The Eupora High School cheerleaders will sponsor a Fall Festival from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 31 on the EHS practice field.

The festival will include baseball throws, beanbag toss, go fish, inflatable jumpers and other games, candy and prizes, face painting, temporary tattoos, chili and hot dogs.

Come back to the practice field after Trunk-R-Treat on Main Street (6-7 p.m.) for a bonfire and pep rally at 7:30 p.m.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the school office. Tickets will be available at the gate for 50 cents.

Trunk or Treat

Join us for Trunk or Treat 2013 at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 in downtown Eupora. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Trunks, jumpers, pumpkin painting and the fire truck will be on hand during the family-friendly alternative to trick or treating. It is hosted by First United Methodist and First Baptist churches of Eupora, and includes churches and organizations from throughout the area.

Haunted House

The East Webster High School Drama Club is sponsoring a Haunted House at the Wood College campus in Mathiston from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 31. Admission is $5; adults must accompany children under 12.

Benefit for Tammy

Talley Hadley

A benefit for Tammy Talley Hadley, daughter of Denton and Betty Talley, will be Nov. 2 at the Stewart Fire Department on U.S. 82.

Proceeds will be used to cover funeral expenses for Ernest Clifford Hadley III.

The benefit will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Hamburger plates will be on sale for $6 and hotdog plates for $5. The benefit will include a cakewalk and auction. Raffle tickets will also be sold on chances for $100 and for a flower/fruit block quilt.

Baby Brantley

Benefit Nov. 2

A benefit for baby Brantley Blessike will be Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. until at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora.

All proceeds will go to his medical expenses. Brantley was born Aug. 24 to Brandi and Barry Blessike, and has a severe glucose problem.

The benefit will feature live music, a cakewalk, auction at 2 p.m. and inflatables for children. Lunch plates are $5 and will include a choice of hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue. Donations can be made for the Brantley Blessike Benefit at the Bank of Kilmichael.

Flea Market

The Choctaw County Flea Market will be Nov. 2 in Ackerman. There is no vendor fee. Applications are available at the Choctaw County Extension office, Broken Wings and Chamber of Commerce office. For information, call flea market chairman Judi Cooper at 285-7593 or the Extension office at 285-6337.

Animal Shelter

A Choctaw County Animal Shelter fundraiser will be Nov. 2 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church Lighthouse Building on Highway 12 in Ackerman. It will feature vendors, food and games for the children.

Mays Corn Maze

The White Cap Shades with special guests Caroline May, Kathleen Lott and IMPACT will be in concert Nov. 9 at the Mays Corn Maze.

The WCS is an acoustic country band that consists of longtime friends Garrett Oswalt and Ben May. Both have been in many bands together, and are together again, for their “May’s Maize Maze One Night Only Extravaganza” show, to rock the farm that made them the band they are today.

But they are not alone, alongside the WCS will be two more young and talented acts: (1) Caroline May and Kathleen Lott, and (2) IMPACT [Jessica May, Katie Leach and Nathan May].

The concert, which starts at 7 p.m., is free and the maze is located in 3314 Webster-Lodi Road. Come join the fun!

Dott Dodd benefit

A benefit for Dott Dodd will be Nov. 9 at the Tomnolen Fire Department from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

It will include a cakewalk, live music, auction of arts/crafts, jewelry, gift certificates from various businesses and more. Hamburger plates will be available for $5 each. Chances are being sold on a Savage Axis 270 rifle with scope, Gamo Bone Collector air rifle 177 with scope and a 15-inch flatscreen TV.

Anyone wanting to donate items for the auction, a cake for the cakewalk or buy a chance on the items to be raffled may contact Stacie Tollison at 662-312-4135 or Judy Hodges at 662-744-4401.

All proceeds will go to Miss Dott to help with her medical expenses and cancer treatment.

Gang concert

The Chuck Wagon Gang will be appearing at First Baptist Church in Eupora at 7 p.m. Nov. 15. Opening for the Gang at 6:30 p.m. will be Southern Image Quartet of Plantersville. A love offering will be received.

Library story hour

Maben Public Library has story hour every Friday at 10 a.m. featuring many fun activities along with a story with Ms. Mary. Children ages 3-6 are invited.

Mathiston Library

The Mathiston Public Library has story hour and activities for children of all ages every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Library storytime

Storytime at Webster County Public Library is held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3-6 are invited to attend. For more information call 258-7515.

AA meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in the Education Conference Room.

Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.
