The first-ever FunTober Autumn Festival will be Oct. 26 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in Mathiston’s town park.
Vendor spots are $10 each and are based on a 12×12 spot. Electricity is available at no additional cost. We have lots of fun things for the day — pet costume contest, children’s costume contest, pumpkin-decorating contest (bring it by 10 a.m. and pick up by 4 p.m.), live music, vendors and a bake-off competition!
We have great prizes for all of the winners also. We are also having a hot dog eating contest — $5 to enter (up to 10 people) and the first to eat them wins $25! There are no entry fees for all other contests.
If you’re interested in any of our contests, being a vendor (seeking food vendors also) or would like to sing or play, call Betty at 312-8724. This festival is sponsored by the Civic League of Mathiston.
A note of thanks to everyone that came to the Miss and Mister Mathiston All Crown Pageant on Oct. 12.
First off, we want to thank God for his blessings upon what we do in our community. Without him, nothing matters. We would like to thank all of the local businesses and individuals that donated toward door prizes for our pageant. To all the ones who worked behind the scenes, thank you!
Special thanks to Janet Dean at Mathiston Florist for helping us out each time we’ve asked her too with decorating our stage and for all the other times we’ve needed something too.
Thanks to all of the parents for letting your children participate in our pageant and for being patient with us in our learning. Thanks to all of our league members — without God and all of you, this would not be a success! I thank you all for all of your hard work and dedication. You all are awesome people.
