Fire donations

Woodmen of the World donated a new flag to the Mathiston Fire Department on Oct. 4. Woodmen Lodge 94 in Eupora donated the flagpole and the fire station’s first flag. The lodge also donated funds that enabled the department to purchase an automated external defibrillator that can be used on adults and children during a cardiac arrest. Gathered for the presentation of the flag and AED are (back) Brian Perkins, who the MFD once assisted after being injured; Mathiston Fire Chief Lee Gilliland; (front) Robbie Clark, Woodmen field representative; Shane Box, MFD assistant chief; Tom Booth, MFD captain; Forrest Clay, Lodge 94 president; Evelyn McGee, Woodmen field representative; and Tommy Booth, Lodge 94 member.
