I am known as the “Quilt Lady.” I am 87 years old and have lived in the Sapa community since 1939.
I have pieced and quilted up to 50 to 75 quilts. I have given my five children two or three apiece. My 10 grandchildren have gotten quilts for graduation or weddings. I am working on my five great-grandchildren’s quilts.
I have a quilt that Barbara Justice told me I could get $1,000 for it if I had it at the right place and right time — I’m still looking. It was on display at the Louisville Library in September.
I love my hobby.
