Richard James Jr.

Services for Richard James Jr., 79, were Sept. 30, 2013, at Maben Church of God with the Rev. Brian Amason officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery in Fame.

He was born April 26, 1934, to the late Richard and Vera Townsend James in Martin. Mr. James worked as a truck driver and was a charter member of Maben Church of God. He died Sept. 27, 2013, at NMMC-Eupora.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Hawes of Walthall; three sisters, Anne Lee Edwards and Wilma Stauddy of Maben, and Shirley Lilly of Meridian; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Guy Barnett, Joe Eric Byers, Chad Garrard, Eric Hawes, Mykel Hawes and Matt Jenkins.

Wise Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of arrangements.

 

Maurice Malone

Hillhouse

Services for Maurice Malone Hillhouse, 79, of Maben were Sept. 28, 2013, at Center Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in Wake Forest Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Oktibbeha County. Mrs. Malone was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. She died Sept. 25, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Survivors include a husband, Edward Hillhouse of Maben; a daughter, Linda Hill of Spring Hill, Tenn.; two brothers, Bill Malone of Sturgis and Doyle Malone of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Center Grove Baptist Church.
