The Maben Lions Club will sponsor the eighth annual NFL Punt Pass and Kick Contest at 11 a.m. on Sept. 28 at the football field in Maben of West Oktibbeha High School.
The competition includes boys and girls ages 8 to 15. There are four age categories each for boys and girls.
Registration forms are will be available from the PE and sports coaches at both West Oktibbeha and East Webster elementary and high schools. Registration may be completed at the competition beginning at 10 a.m.
A parent’s signature and a birth certificate are required to verify the age of contestants. Participants in the contest must wear tennis shoes; no bare feet or cleats are allowed.
Qualified participants are allowed to enter only one competition per year. Winners will go on to compete in the regional contest in October. The semifinal stage of the contest will be at a New Orleans Saints home football game.
The Eupora baseball team is preselling rotisserie chicken dinner plates for Oct. 4. The dinner includes half of a rotisserie chicken, slaw and baked beans.
The cost of the dinner is $10 and can be picked up on Oct. 4 at the Eupora High School cafeteria from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any high school baseball player or at the high school office.
All proceeds will be used to complete the construction of the baseball field house.
at EHS field
The Eupora baseball program will be having an alumni baseball on Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the high school baseball field.
All former Eupora High School players are invited to register for this event. The cost to register is $50 and this will include an alumni game T-shirt to be worn on game day. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the completion of the locker room/covered cages.
Registration forms and the registration fee are due by 3 p.m. Oct. 9 and can be turned in to the Eupora Baseball Booster Club. Also, on the day of the alumni game, members of the 2003 state championship team will be able to buy their game jersey for $50.
