Fire truck highlight of library storytime

On Aug. 14, Storytime at Webster County Library started back up after summer vacation.

Ms. Bonnie read the book “This is my Town” by Mercer Mayer to 12 children . They compared the places in the book to the actual places in Eupora. They talked about the post office, the police station, the library, grocery stores, schools and especially the fire station.

After the story, everyone went outside for a surprise — a big red fire truck. Jason Love and Jaime Hernandez of the Eupora Fire Department brought the truck to the library and visited with the kids.

They demonstrated how a fireman gets dressed and the equipment he uses. As the fire truck left, the children gathered at the front of the library to watch and wave as Jason and Jaime drove past.

After a snack furnished by Mandy Salley in honor of Claude Salley’s birthday, the children were ready to leave. The library thanks Jason and Jaime for giving of their time for the children.
