ECOM sponsors Bible Drill, Back-to-School program

The Eupora Community Outreach Ministry sponsored the 2013 Bible Drill event and Back-to-School and School Supply Giveaway Program this past weekend.

The Bible Drill was held Saturday at Liberty United Methodist Church in Eupora. The contestants of the drill were given questions about Bible scriptures and the references to those scriptures. The contestant who answered the question correctly would receive points, with the contestant with the highest point total winning the contest.

The children were put into two categories, 4- to 6-year-olds and 7- to 12-year-olds. Second and third places were also awarded in each category.

Winners of the 2013 Bible Drill were:

• 4- to 6-year-olds: 1st Place, Mariyah Moore; 2nd Place, Nykiah Williams; 3rd Place, Briana Davidson.

• 7- to 12-year-olds: 1st Place, Leuvervia Smith; 2nd Place, Kyla Patterson; 3rd Place, Liza Bingham.

The Back-to-School and School Supply Giveaway Program was held Sunday at Cathedral of Deliverance in Eupora. A total of 125 students came out to participate in the program, which provided needed school supplies to all school-aged children including backpacks, binders and other accessories. The supplies were provided by ECOM by way of fundraisers and donations received over the past few months.
