Services for Minnie Susan Kyles, 64, of Ackerman were July 29, 2013, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial was in Chester Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born July 1, 1949, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Kyles, who was disabled, was of the Baptist religion. She died July 26, 2013, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Brian Kyles; a daughter, Rebecca Oswalt; a brother, Howard Crowley; a sister, Margaret Kent, all of Ackerman; and three grandchildren.

Services for Nona B. Dalton Lightell, 90, of Mantee were July 20, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with Bro. Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Wake Forrest Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Webster County to the late Muldrew and Lula Dalton. Mrs. Lightell was a member of Mantee Baptist Church. She died July 18, 2013.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Blaine Lightell of Mantee; a daughter, Donna Lightell of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Hazel Forrester of Eupora; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lincoln B. McMullen

Services for Lincoln B. McMullen, 73, of Eupora will be at 2 p.m., Aug. 3, 2013, at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Choctaw County with Pastor Shannon D. McMullen officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Chapel Cemetery in Choctaw County.
A native of Choctaw County, he was the son of the late Wilson and Ellen McMullen. He was a graduate of Webster County Training School and attended Okolona Junior College. Mr. McMullen was the first African-American supervisor at Futorian, where he was employed 30 years. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, where he served as a deacon, church clerk and choir member. Mr. McMullen died July 24, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Eupora.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. McMullen of Eupora; two daughters, Tangela Gunn of Starkville and Kiesha Hervey of Eupora; four sons, Shaun McMullen of Atlanta, Anthony McMullen of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Judenary of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tony Hervey of Arkansas; three sisters, Louise McMullen Shelton of Eupora, Virgie McMullen of Starkville and Betty Smith of Boston; and a brother, Shannon D. McMullen of Killeen, Texas.

Larry Eugene Ray

Services for Larry Eugene Ray, 56, of Ackerman were July 20, 2013, at Ackerman Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Irvin and Roy Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Salem Independent Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 18, 1957, in Arkansas. Mr. Ray was a carpenter and member of Ackerman Baptist Church. He died July 27, 2013, in Bruce.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Butler Ray of Ackerman; two sons, Michael Fulgham of Columbus and Taylor Ray of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Christy Harill of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Alana Ray and Marlana Ray of Starkville; a brother, Lamar Ray of Oxford; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery Fund or Gideons International.

Edith Medlin Tackett

Services for Edith Medlin Tackett, 92, of Eupora, were July 30, 2013, at Eupora First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Trey Harper officiating. Burial was in Eupora City Cemetery.
Mrs. Tackett, a retired homemaker, was a member of Eupora First United Methodist Church. She died July 28, 2013, at her daughter’s residence in Columbus.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Bowen Smith of Columbus; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Carl Hubbard, Bobby Johnson, Jim Smith, John Thomas, Ruben Walker and Bill Yates.

Services for Roger Turner Sr., 64, of Corinth were July 25, 2013, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Corinth with the Mickey Trammel officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Eupora.
He was born June 23, 1949, to the late Harvey and Dolly Turner Taylor. Mr. Turner was a riverboat captain for 27 years for Kirby Marine of Houston, Texas, and was a member of Tate Baptist Church He died July 22, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of three years, Cheryl Turner of Corinth; four sons, Roger Allen Turner Jr. of Yazoo City, Andy Turner of Eupora, Brad Woodard of Hallettsville, Texas, and Wesley Wilbanks of Corinth;. three daughters, Penny Harrison and Connie Odom of Eupora, and Lisa McCall of Tupelo; a brother, Charles Turner of Sheridan, Ark.; two sisters, Sue Rushing of Harrison, Ark., and Bettye Lynchard of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Warren Cooper, Braden Harrison, Lincoln Henson, Alan Turner, Braxton Turner, Cole Turner, Dalton Turner, Garrett Turner and Roger Turner III.

Services for Donald Wilson Sr., 92, of Mathiston were July 27, 2013, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with the Rev. Steve Griffin officiating. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston.
He was a retired salesman for Gerber Baby Foods. Mr. Wilson was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Mathiston, and was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the American Legion. During his time in the Navy he served on the USS Wyoming, the USS Pastores and the USS Kilauca. He died July 22, 2013, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Survivors include a son, Donald Wilson Jr. of Mathiston; two daughters, Donnie Ruth Avery of Lyman, S.C., and Susan Munson of Zion, Ill.; two sisters, Agnes Agar of Lima, Ohio, and Virginia Boothroy of Johnston, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Robert Beavers, Michael Munson, Richard W. Munson, Chris Wilson, Cody Wilson and Frank Zeien.
Mavis Ellis Yorke

Private services were held for Mavis Ellis Yorke, 93, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., formerly of Greenwich, Conn.
She was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Mathiston to the late Ruth Hester and Noah Ellis. Mrs. Yorke graduated from Bennett Academy and Blue Mountain College. She worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture at Mississippi State University and later as secretary to the director of flying at Columbus Army Air Base. She died July 21, 2013, at her home.
Survivors include four children, Constance Yorke Webster and Kenneth Yorke Jr.
of Greenwich, Kathryn Yorke of Lodi, Calif., and Wendy Yorke Augustyn of Riverton, N.J.; two sisters, Ruth Anne Oswalt of Mathiston and Nancy Jones of Kosciusko; a brother, Noah Stanley Ellis of Madison; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
