NMMC-Eupora offers arthritis information
There are many different kinds of arthritis. One particular type is called rheumatoid arthritis or RA.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic disease that typically affects those between the ages of 20 and 40. People with RA will have much more stiffness (with episodes lasting more than one hour) in their joints than someone with osteoarthritis. In contrast, osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease and generally affects people over age 40.
Studies show that people with RA who learn as much as they can about their disease and work closely with their doctors have a better quality of life.

NMMC-Eupora among cleanest hospitals
North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora was tied for 32nd in a list of the top 50 cleanest hospitals, according to HCAHPS surveys.
The hospitals making the list had the highest percentage of patients who reported that their room and bathroom were “always” clean in the HCAHPS survey. NMMC-Eupora had 89 percent score in the survey.
The list is based on HCAHPS survey results reported in CMS’ Hospital Compare database and covered the period July 2011 through June 2012.
Some hospitals were excluded from the list because of insufficient data, such as having fewer than 100 patients complete the HCAHPS survey.
