A gospel music jubilee will be at 6 p.m. July 13 at the Gore Springs Community Center featuring 9-year-old Grace Hester of Tupelo, the Master’s Quartet of Tupelo, Southern Image of Plantersville, Fishers of Men of Oxford and Promised Land of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Admission is $5.

Group to meet

Breaking the Fast

The Webster County Extension Office will offer “Breaking the Fast” from 9-10 a.m. July 17 at the First United Methodist Church Kids Kingdom building on Holman Street. Call 258-3971 to register.

MBS blood drive

Dollar General in Eupora will be holding a community blood drive from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. July 17. The Mississippi Blood Services donor coach will be in the parking lot. Visit msblood.com or call 888-90-BLOOD (902-5663) for information.

NMMC-Eupora

shadowing program

North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora will offer a two-day shadowing program on July 22-23 for students who will be entering into the 10th through 12th grades in the fall.

The students will be able to choose a clinical area they are interested in and shadow someone in that area to see if that is an area they would be interested in working later on in life. The clinical areas are Nursing (ER and Acute Care), EMS (paramedics), Respiratory, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Dietary.

If your child is interested in participating in this program, contact the NMMC-Eupora Education Department at 258-9311 or 258-9306 for more information and to register your child. Sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Avery-Lankford reunion

The annual Avery-Lankford reunion will be July 28 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Duck Hill Community Center.

All descendants of Daniel Hardy Avery and his wife, Frances Simmons Avery, and descendants of Fannie Avery Hendricks Dulaney are invited to attend.

A potluck lunch will be served at noon.

EHS Class of

1968 reunion

The Eupora High School Class of 1968 will celebrate its 45th class reunion on Aug. 3 at the Eupora Country Club.

The agenda includes a tour of EHS at 4 p.m., social hour at the Country Club at 5 and dinner at 6:30. All classmates are encouraged to attend this fun-filled day.

Mathiston Library

Story Hour

The Mathiston Public Library has Story Hour and activities for children of all ages every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Story Hour is directed by Jill Carroll.

AA meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in the Education Conference Room.

Bingo at VFW

Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.

Public hearing

Prairie Opportunity, Inc. Community Action Agency will conduct a public hearing on July 17, 2013 at 4:30 at the Community Center, 390 Clark Avenue, Eupora, MS.
